Company and Union meet to discuss PGD

Re-alignment

Yesterday, Company and Union officials met to discuss the re-alignment effort announced at the Fort Myers and Sanford Plant sites.

The Union was presented with the proposed staffing models from both sites which will be sent to each of the Local Union Presidents and released by the Company to the employees at both sites as quickly as possible.

The Company informed the Union that their intent through this process is to utilize the workforce to the best of their ability and match the necessary skills of the workforce to the new technology of the new units, while causing as little disruption to the workforce as possible.

Topics concerning the reduction and utilization of the classifications most impacted, ratios, timeframes, posting of additional jobs and transfer of work were discussed during the meeting. At this time, several items of information have been requested and several of the issues are pending answers so that the parties can continue with the discussions.

Both parties will be developing a list of the issues raised at the meeting along with the particular interests from both sides. Both parties will then be soliciting input from the employees at the two sites for ideas in the upcoming week, which should be forwarded to your Local Union President, who will then forward them to the Council Office. We will also be reviewing the information that was requested during the meeting as it arrives in preparation for the next meeting. The next meeting between Company and Union officials has been scheduled for Monday, July 2, 2001.

Fraternally,
